DFA Boston

WHO ARE WE?

DFA Boston meets the first Wednesday of every month to support participatory politics and fiscally conservative, socially progressive candidates at all levels of government, rebuilding the Democratic Party from the grassroots, following the mission of Democracy for America, the organization founded by Gov. Howard Dean, now the chairman of the Democratic National Committee.

WHAT HAVE WE DONE?

At each Meetup, we learn about local races and national issues. We don't leave without an action plan for the coming month. We meet candidates and volunteer in our communities. We explain the workings of the state bureaucracies. We've worked to help Gov. Dean become DNC Chair and to protect Social Security.

WHAT WILL WE DO?

The agenda for coming months includes: endorsing and volunteering for candidates for Boston City Council and Mayor; discussing issues essential to Boston's communities; taking back the Democratic Party and taking back the country!

STEERING COMMITTEE

The steering committee meets to set the agenda for the Meetups, to organize other events, and to work on outreach and expansion. Present members of the steering committee include:
  • Brad Johnson, chair
  • Andrew McLeod, secretary
  • Jennifer McGoldrick, media relations
  • Sarah Messina, political outreach
  • Michael Conlon & Nicole Agusti, online development

This is not an exhaustive list, nor are these official titles. We expect to establish formal by-laws and procedures in upcoming months. We welcome greater involvement!
